Clinton Transit was honored to provide a free, cozy ride for parents to pick up gifts from Santa’s Remote Workshop again this year.
In partnership with The Voice for Clinton County’s Children and Toys for Tots, the Blue Buses ensure transportation is not an obstacle. According to Top Elves, this year’s collaboration has already helped deliver joy to more than a thousand children throughout Clinton County.
“We truly enjoy and seek out ways we can be helpful to our community,” shares Clinton Transit Executive Director MaLissa Schutt. “Whether that’s a ride to pick up a child’s Christmas gift, connecting residents with friends and family, or helping to usher Santa into town for the St. Johns Festival of Lights, we are here to serve Clinton County’s mobility needs in a variety of ways.”
Simple and accessible, Clinton Transit provides safe, cozy curb-to-curb rides throughout Clinton County and beyond. Riders can easily manage their transportation schedule anytime using the Clinton Transit app (available in the App Store and Google Play), or by calling the dispatch office at 989.224.8127, Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
For those who would like to give the gift of mobility this season, Blue Bus gift certificates are available for purchase in any amount at Clinton Transit, 215 North Scott Road in St. Johns or by calling the dispatch office.
For holiday travelers, Clinton Transit regularly provides easy, cost-conscious, and safe transportation to and from Lansing’s Capital Region International Airport and East Lansing’s Greyhound and Amtrak stations.
“Our friendly, local drivers pick up residents and provide transportation right to their departure spot. Travelers appreciate not having to dig out their vehicle if it snows, drag their luggage through the elements, or pay for parking,” explains Schutt. “We just ask travelers to schedule their rides as far in advance as possible so we can plan accordingly.”
Clinton Transit’s regular one-way fare to the Lansing airport is $3. A discounted fare of $1.50 applies to seniors 60 and older, all persons with an ADA-defined disability, and youth under the age of 18. Military veterans always ride free. Rides to Greyhound and Amtrak locations in Ingham County are $4 each way with a $2 discounted fare.
Established in 2001, Clinton Transit has been providing curb-to-curb service to meet the needs of all Clinton County residents. Fondly known as the Blue Bus, the on-demand transit system responds to ride requests and provides safe, reliable transportation to all county residents. This creates a more connected, accessible and vibrant Clinton County. For more information on the Blue Bus, visit mybluebus.com.
