The City of St. Johns has once again received the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting, the highest form of recognition in governmental accounting and financial reporting.
The award marks 21 consecutive years that the City’s Annual Comprehensive Financial Report has been lauded for “the spirit of transparency and full disclosure” by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA).
The City of St. Johns strives to meet the highest possible standards. This award reflects that the City is consistently hitting that mark. I am very proud of Treasurer Kristina Kinde and our dedicated staff for achieving this significant accomplishment year after year.
St. Johns Mayor Scott Dzurka
The association established the COA Award in 1945 to encourage state and local governments to go beyond the minimum by creating comprehensive annual financial reports that are presented in the spirit full disclosure. Examined by a panel of impartial judges, the City of St. Johns’ annual comprehensive financial report for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2022, complies with the program’s highest standards.
“The City’s financial reports go above and beyond to clearly communicate the City’s financial story,” shares Mayor Dzurka. “We want the community to feel empowered to review the City’s financial information and know they’re getting the best possible information in a transparent and consistent way.”
